Need better way to establish relationship between Requirement and Test Case
The new feature in 6.0 to relate test cases by dragging one onto another is great! Please expand this idea (or some other improvement) for establishing the relationship between requirements and test cases. Navigating the folder tree when using 'add' on the relationships tab is painful and the matrix report is not user friendly is you have too many results on the X or Y axis.
5 votesImplemented in Enterprise Tester 6.2 – out now! Drag and drop a Requirement onto a Test Case to create a relationship. You can now also drag and drop Requirements or Test Case folders onto an individual Requirement or Test Case to create bulk relationships.

Ability to set a Test Case back to No Run
The ability to set a Test Cases status to No Run after it has been placed into In Progress or any other final status would be great to solve a few issues:
If a tester accidentally clicks Save instead of Close on a test case the status changes to In Progress
If a Blocked test case becomes unblocked.
If a Failed or Completed test case needs to be rerun.

Add called/linked tests capability - be able to call a test from another.
Add called/linked tests capability - be able to call a test from another. The bulk copy allows you to copy steps that would be repeated but becomes a maintenance nightmare if those change - you have to change all tests then that have those steps instead of changing one called test.

Segregate the delete permission from 'Manage Execution' , Manage Script , Manage Requirements
Segregate the delete permission from Execution , Script and Requirement
Under Test management ' Manage Execution' gives even the delete permission to all users , same for Scripts and requirements . This will avoid deletion of folders by users mistakenly. Delete can be restricted to only 1 or 2 users from a project.
11 votesEnterprise Tester 5.1 now supports a granular permissions structure, including a specific delete permission.

Implement User removal on LDAP synchonization
As of today Users can only be added on LDAP synchronization.
Having the (pretty common and standard) functionality to remove users on LDAP synchronization would allow for much greater scalability of your product. (TMS-5026)19 votesImplemented in Enterprise Tester release 6.2 – out now!

Add a new or modify existing test step while executing a test case
Currently it is not possible to add a new step or modify existing test step while executing a test case.
It would be good that such changes are allowed and when saving, then it would ask if changes need to be saved only to current run or update a master test case.
For executions which were started it would be good to have the possibility to refresh test steps from master test case. Now it will take changed test case only for the next run.72 votesAdded in Enterprise Tester 6.0 – out now! Permissions control whether this functionality is utilised or not.

Copy test steps from one test script to another test script
Currently it is possible to copy test steps within one test script, but sometimes steps repeat between different scripts and therefore it would be very beneficial to be able to copy steps across different test cases
1 voteHi Zane,
Since versions 4.7 we introduced the ability to copy test steps between test scripts within one project, as well as between projects.
Please, have a look at this article for more information: http://help.catchsoftware.com/display/ET48/Adding+Steps+to+Test+Scripts
Sincerely,
Roman.—

Allow for Multi-assignment of same Test Script to different Exection folders - under different names
We have found that we very often reuse *same* Test Script in different scenarios (= assign it to different execution folders) . In this connection it would be very beneficial if each of these assigned scripts could carry their own unique names, while still subscribing to chances made to the mother test script (keeping her original name).
In other words, assigned "daughters" to any given mother test script should have the ability to carry their own names, but subscribe to changes made to their origin exactly as of today - i.e. except for a change to the mother name.17 votesAdded in Enterprise Tester 6.0 – out now! Reusable Test Steps are now available. http://help.catchsoftware.com/display/ET/Reusable+Test+Steps

Ability to modify completed test runs
It would be great if it were possible to allow users to re-edit completed test scripts once they have been completed after an execution run? Often testers forget to add notes etc after they have completed a set of script execution runs. Unfortunately ET only shows a read-only view of the completed script after execution is complete.
14 votesThe original request to allow Editing of Test Cases following execution completion has been implemented in Enterprise Tester 6.0.

Visualize test steps better
We have found that testers tend to open assigned tests just to familiarize themselves with the contents of the steps they hold. This unfortunately changes the state of each test to "InProgress" (thus influencing all related filters and views). This could be avoided in either of the following three ways:
1) That "reset to Not Run" was included as a bulk action in the views,
2) That "InProgress" was not set TILL an actual change was added to the test - a new status added or the like, or
2) that included steps could simply be visualised much easier -…
42 votesEnterprise Tester 5.1 now retains the test execution status as “Not Run” when a test to be executed is opened.
-
More granular permissions
Permissions are not at a granular level. eg it is not possible to allow a group/user to be able to add
scripts but not delete them.14 votesEnterprise Tester 5.1 now supports a granular permissions structure, including a specific delete permission.

Support changing position of in-built fields
We would like the ability to move the in-built fields into different places e.g. we want to be able to place some custom fields above the inbuilt fields, as we use them more often.

Allow creation of a Master script library that holds template scripts
As a Test Manager I want the ability to have a master script library / project that hold a large number of scripts that are used across multiple projects.
This will allow all my scripts across all projects to be updated when I update the script in the master project.
It would be even better if scripts could be parameterized in some way - so text in steps and description could be automatically replaced with parameters assigned when the templates are added to individual projects.
Scenarios I'm thinking of is if we had a generic "login" set of scripts, the…
11 votesEnterprise Tester 6.0 has enabled reusable master test steps & our next release will include a plugin which allows parameterized values.
Enterprise Tester 6.1 now supports parameterization with our Compiler Suite Plugin.

Improve data mapping when creating a project link
When creating incident links it would be great if: 1. Allow saving partially completed mappings 2. I didn't have to map priorties, types or statuses which do not relate to the projects being mapped. 3. If I could click a button to automatically add the missing picklist values to Enterprise Tester.
3 votesWith ET 4.9 and through the user of auto-map fields most of this mapping work has been removed. You now can also copy a previously configured link to a new link, pointed at a different ET project/Jira project pair, saving a lot of effort when configuring many projects that have a common workflow/set of screens/fields in JIRA.
For those who have upgraded to 4.9/4.9.1 – we would love your feedback on this improvements, and any other way we can make the experience of setting up Integration bet ET and JIRA better.
Thanks,

Add support for resetting password
Users sometimes forget their ET password, and this requires an administrator to reset it for them.
I would like users to be able to request a password reset themselves if they forget their password, and to then receive a reset password email.
2 votesThis can be done if you have a Mail Server configured in the Administration area of ET. When a mail server is configured, a link appears on the log in page, allowing you to reset your password.
To add a mail server you can see this article in our Knowledge Base.
http://help.catchsoftware.com/display/ET/Configuring+a+Mail+ServerThanks for your feedback!

Support mapping ET custom field to Jira inbuilt field
Support mapping ET custom field to a JIRA inbuilt fields - particularly labels
4 votesYou can now map inbuilt and custom fields on both sides interchangeably in ET 4.9 for both incident and requirement synchronization.
-
Add the ability to configure Screens
As a test manager I would like the ability to configure the screens for requirements, Test scripts, Script Assignments and Incidents so that I only see the fields that i need for the project and in the order that I is relevant to my project. This will allow me to only see fields that are relevant and are in use by my team.
3 votesImplemented in Enterprise Tester 6.2 – out now!
Field configuration for entities is now available at a project level. -
Support changing name of in-built fields
It would be nice if we could change the labels for inbuilt fields e.g. I would like to change "Priority" to "Complexity" for test scripts

Add ability to save CSV Import mappings
Every time you import a CSV via resources -> import, I need to remap every column and option, this takes a lot of time.
It would be great if you could save the mappings, with a name, and select the saved mappings when importing next time.
Also would be great if I could share my saved mappings with other people on my team.

Shared Dashboards
I have setup dashboards for our projects, but users can not see them, and instead get their own copy of a dashboard.
To save users having to setup their own dashboards for each project, we would like the ability to create and share dashboards with other users.
8 votesShared Dashboards have been implemented in Enterprise Tester version 5.0. Dashboards can be shared with Users or Groups.
